Does anybody think the West Indies will shine in cricket again?

We are told there are warring factions, with Trinidad & Tobago threatening to walk away and play independently from the Windies, but I'm also wondering if the sports of America, and even the sometimes tiresome and currently -driven - WAG's etc, Mr. Beckham in thongs - football has turned West Indian kids away from cricket? Will the atmospheres that used to be experienced at The Oval, and Lords during the seventies ever return when the Windies are on a tour, or has that ended due to the paranoiac capital (trigger-happy London terrorist police, or excuse-making heads of cricket boards notwithstanding) - or closer to the bone, does cricket not interest then anymore? Of course the young West Indian/Brits would rather play football for Arsenal or Chelsea today, but how many in Guyana or Trinidad would be interested to take the bat?
